Community Volunteer Opportunities for 2008/2009
- Assistant Running Coach/ Running Buddy -- Provide support and encouragement to girls in character development program while helping head coaches manage curriculum and plan special events.
- Business/Administrative Assistant -- Support agency leadership with filing and record-keeping.
- Front Desk Support -- Greet families and visitors, and answer the telephone.
- Fundraiser Extraordinaire -- Assist in planning and implementing fundraising efforts.
- Kitchen Donation Manager -- Collect food donations from ACME, transport back to agency, and weigh and record donations.
- Lunch Chef -- Prepare simple lunches or special dishes with the help of participants.
- Mentor to Youth -- Become a trusted friend and guide to a child. Comprehensive training provided.
- Parent Educator -- Support staff in encouraging healthy interactions between parents and children during parenting classes and special events.
- Spanish Speaker -- Assist Hispanic families during their visits to the agency, possibly including translating for staff during delivery of services or reading with Spanish-speaking children while parents are receiving services.
- Work-out Leader -- Support parents during exercise/wellness class. Could include providing encouragement during exercise videos or demonstrating a new skill, e.g. tae bo, yoga, aerobics.
